Kamargazen

The Kamargazen was a pure, magnificent creature, envied by many for its beauty and his kindness, made him endearing to most people. One day, he came across a flower made of flesh and feeding on blood. It radiated so much darkness that everything around it perished and poisoned the earth. The Kamargazen knew he could purify the place with his sacred essence, so he ate the flower and sucked the evil energy from the land. Exhausted, but proud of himself, he resumed his walk.

A few days later, he found another cursed flower and worried that it was affecting the surrounding wildlife. So he ate it again, and promised himself to be more vigilant in the future to keep the planet pure. On his path, he crossed other flowers, which he ate in order to protect his people. Unfortunately, the darkness contained in these plants gradually affected him. His beautiful feathers fell, his colorful scales turned dark, his body hunched over and thinned, and his eyes lost their sparkle shifting to a glassy white. His quiet breathing turned into a muffled, hissing sound. His now frightening, bony appearance repelled anyone who crossed his path.

The Kamargazen held no grudge against them however. In fact, he was reassured. He feared that the darkness he had absorbed would contaminate them, so his exile seemed both beneficial and necessary. It didn't matter to him how others perceived him, their judgment, or if they never understood the reason why he looked the way he did. Insisting on explaining himself would make his actions appear selfish, and not something he did out of compassion. Neither was he looking for someone to blame, for he had deliberately chosen to intervene in these desecrated places. Even if it meant death, he was prepared to accept the consequences. Content with his decision, he continued to protect the land and the people, for although the curses had affected his body, it had not reached his heart.

Today, the most powerful magicians can rely on him to purify cursed places without being affected by the darkness. He is seen as an example of humility and kindness amongst them.
